Counseling for Children

As humans, we are supposed to worry. Worry keeps us safe. Problems arise when the worry begins to take over our lives.

Children’s anxiety can present in many ways. Fear, avoidance, anger, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts or compulsive behaviors are symptoms of anxiety that can get in the way of our children living their fullest lives. Through therapy, I work to help children to understand how and why their brain and body reacts to stress and anxiety. I utilize cognitive behavior therapy to help children, tweens and teens understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors work together to contribute to their anxiety, and provide tools and support to interrupt that cycle.

If your child’s symptoms of anxiety are beginning to overwhelm the family, please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation. I’d love to help.
